Ford Production Cars/LCVs By Nation : 2013

Ford had strong production growth in 2013. It is a company that's is very big in LCVs, especially pick-ups but also vans. The transit is a big seller for the company also. While the US is by far the biggest production country, after that it has quite an even spread of nations used. Belgium is finished as a car maker for Ford, as is the UK, although the latter still makes millions of engines and contributes much in R&D. Australia is going soon too and that is the right move. It is the 4th biggest car/LCV maker in the world.

Ford keeping things in focus

Europe is a challenge for the 'blue oval' as it relinquishes market share to regain profitability in that region. The Lincoln premium brand is part of the figures below, but scarcely makes a ripple, due to it's insignificance.  With OICA figures which are supplied by makers, there are occasional anomalies. For Ford I notice no figure for South Africa. In 2012 for example nearly 50,000 vehicles were made there but not given here. I could add them but wonder if they have been attributed to another nation because of not enough local content. Who knows? What is here does give a good indication anyway.
