Car Sales Canada: 2012

The Canadian market is generally pretty uneventful. GM was always top dog, with Ford and Chrysler in the next two spots. However things started to change in 2009, when Toyota passed Chrysler into 3rd. Then in 2010, Ford passed GM for #1 brand and Chrysler passed Toyota to regain 3rd. Now in 2012 Chrysler knocked GM back to 3rd. In the meantime, Hyunda and Kia have been making gains in recent years.

As for 2012, Honda has made a comeback after some poor years in Canada. Further down the list Fiat, Land Rover and Porsche had strong sales gains.

Below the first two columns show 2011 and 2012 ranking, the second column in from the right is increase or decrease, and the extreme right shows market share for the major brands.
