Car Sales Croatia: 2011

Despite a useful increase for the year, sales are still down a long way from the heady days in 2008 when over 88,000 cars were sold; 2010 proving to be an annus horribilis.
Opel lost its top spot to VW, with a drastic swing in fortunes for each brand. The overall market was volatile generally.

Rank/Brand/Sales/Share
1 VW 5,100 12.3%
2 Opel 3,950 9.5%
3 Renault 3,900 9.3%
4 Peugeot 3,400 8.2%
5 Skoda 3,000 7.2%
6 Chevrolet 2,900 7.0%
7 Hyundai 2,650 6.4%
8 Citroen 2,640 6.3%
9 Ford 1,900 4.6%
10 Kia 1,600 3.9%
11 Dacia 1,350 3.3%
12 Toyota 1,250 3.0%
13 Nissan 1,150 2.7%
14 Audi 930 2.2%
15 Suzuki 930 2.2%
16 BMW 860 2.1%
17 Mazda 820 2.0%
18 Seat 775 1.9%
19 Fiat 540 1.3%
20 Mercedes 500 1.2%
21 Honda 450 1.1%
22 Volvo 250 0.6%
23 Mitsubishi 200 0.5%
Others 520 1.3%
Total 41,560 7.7% increase.

Good gains for VW (+20%), Peugeot (24.8%), Skoda (+29>2%), Citroen (+38.1%), Kia and Dacia both (+30%). Poor results for Opel (-15.5%), Suzuki (-16%), Mazda (-27.3%), Fiat (-20.8%) and Mercedes (-28.9%).

My guess: A modest gain at best for 2012
