Hyundai Worldwide Production By Nation : 2012

Sante Fe Model

Hyundai has a surprisingly narrow number of nations it makes cars in considering its size. Perhaps its lack of a long history has been the reason. It's Korean percentage has been steadily falling, which should happen.

In total, Hyundai's share of worldwide production went up slightly from 5.3 to 5.4%. The biggest growth was Russia (+61%) and the Czech Rep (+21%). Hyundai makes cars in China, India and now Brazil to avoid stiff import duties as it cannot afford not to be a major player in such large and growing markets.

It will be interesting to see if the company can continue to grow, as outmuscling those makes above it won't be easy. I don't personally find the brand particularly desirable.
